Your first machine

From signing up to running your first command takes under a minute.

1. Create an instance

  1. Log in to the Console and navigate to Tilde.
  2. Click Create Instance.
  3. Select a base template (e.g. Ubuntu 22.04 LTS (Default), Node.js & Python Stack, or AI/Data Science).
  4. Choose a resource spec (e.g. Basic 1C/1G or Standard 2C/4G).
  5. Click Launch.

2. Enter the terminal

Once provisioned, click Open Terminal to access your dedicated browser terminal:

# Verify pre-installed tools

3. Install packages

Install any software freely with standard package managers:

sudo apt update && sudo apt install -y htop tree curl

[!NOTE] Your workspace directory (/home/workspace) is backed by persistent cloud storage, preserving all your files across sleep cycles and restarts.
